10 Rounds Week 3 - The Magic Week!

Aww, week 3, the magic week? Why is it magic? Because whenever I start a new program with different moves, weights, etc., my body decides to hold on to excess water (and weight) to compensate and this is the typically the week it all evens back out.

Before I get into the numbers, let me tell you a little about what down. First of all, we traveled to Dallas, TX, to the Stockyard Station. Yee-Haw! This is the first time a Beachbody program has traveled cross-country like this. It wasn't a huge selling point for me but since we are in week "who-knows what of quarantine" it's been fun to virtually travel to new places!


The other thing I really like about this program are the weekly progressions. Week 1 was all about getting the punches down. Week 2 was about including defensive moves. Week 3 is about footwork!

The extra movement really increased the calorie burn and sweat factor but since most of the moves were low impact (one move on Friday wasn't but could be modified) my almost 42 year old knees and scoliosis back were happy!


Goals Check


My main goal for this program is to reduce my body fat to 25%. At the start of the program I was at 26.8%. Today, it's 27% (-.8% since last week). And I've lost 2" since I started the program 3 weeks ago!! Yay!

My weight also went back down to where I was when I started the program and I'm feeling leaner in my upper body and waist. See, what did I tell you at the start...week 3 is the magic week! You just need to stick around and trust the process! Aside from the numbers I'm also feeling more confident in the punches. It's true what Joel says,


If you can say it, you can do it!

Most boxing workouts I'm saying the punching combos out loud. My kids may look at me weird but it helps! I still mess up the punches and sometimes go backward when I should be going forward, but I'm having FUN and feeling IT.


Meal Plan

I started last week with an IBS flare-up and made a commitment to eat how I wanted to feel which was GOOD. That meant getting really focused on my meal plan and going back to what I know works: The Ultimate Portion Fix. So, I pulled out my meal planning template I give to my clients and I went to work. I also went back to tracking what I ate on the free Beachbody Nutrition+ app.
