I don't know if you're feeling fine or stressed or somewhere in between, but I hope that you've been able to find joy in the little moments over the past week. As someone who's struggled with depression I've learned what helps me the most is maintaining a routine - one that includes self-care and lots of time outside. If you're feeling down, try changing up your scenery by going to a different room or stepping outside.
In addition to being outside, I also do the following:
Daily Devotional. Before I ever get on my phone to check email or social media I make sure to fill my head (and soul) with positivity. The apps I like are: Bible.com and She Works His Way
Gratitude Journal. I take a few minutes to reflect on the day before and write three things that brought me joy. Sometimes they are big like overall health, but most times they are little things like my kids laughing, or that first sip of warm coffee. You can use the notes app on your phone or a plain notebook. Here's what I use: Good Days Start With Gratitude Journal
Daily Affirmations. This is a newer addition to my routine and something I started after reading Rachel Hollis's book, Girl, Stop Apologizing. The goal is to write 10 statements AS IF you've already achieved them. For example:
I am at my goal weight and loving my body!
I prefer to do these tasks first thing, before my kids wake up. It takes me about 20-30 minutes, just enough time to drink my pre-workout and get moving for the day!
For more ideas check out the pdf below. I even included clickable links on each picture to make it a little easier. As always, I'm here for you whatever you need -- fitness, nutrition, or a friend to talk to -- I've got you!
